PC gamers are a bit sad because developers didn’t even make any comment about the PC platform. Rockstar Games confirmed the game is dropping for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S this November. And you know what? Recently, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said something about PC gamers that we are going to discuss in this post.
What Did Strauss Zelnick Say About GTA 6 PC Release?
Just last month, a shareholder asked Take-Two whether they had any plans for PC, given the PS5 Pro shortages. CEO Strauss Zelnick, treating it as a general question, responded by saying that the company moves in the direction where the “meaningful audience” is. And the PC platform is becoming increasingly important for the Take-Two. However, he has no further specific comments regarding GTA 6 for PC.
GTA 6 is going to launch this November for console players. It will launch with a single-player mode, with no online mode or microtransactions at launch. Rockstar Games has not shared details regarding other modes or features, nor have they mentioned anything about a PC launch date.
How Many Days Until GTA 6 Comes Out for PC?

GTA 5 was launched on consoles first in September 2013, but its PC debut came in April 2015, almost a two-year gap between the console and PC release. And you know, even RDR2 followed the same pattern, though in a shorter time than GTA 5, it reached PC a year after its console launch.
If we apply that pattern to Grand Theft Auto 6, Rockstar Games may target Q4 2027 as a release window. But I personally feel like it can stretch to Q1 2028.
Twitch’s CEO also hinted to players that GTA 6 multiplayer mode will arrive next year, so I wouldn’t be shocked if it comes with the PC version. We all know GTA 6 is a massive thing for every diehard gamer, so a rushed port would definitely hurt. I want a more polished PC version rather than a broken one.

Why isn’t GTA 6 launching on PC first?
GTA 6 is not going to launch on PC on November 19, 2026; Rockstar Games’ first priority is console-only (PlayStation and Xbox Series) for now. The PC release window is still unconfirmed, and you must be thinking: why isn’t PC their prioritized platform, right? Here are a few reasons why PC is not listed as a launch platform:
Hardware Optimization
PS5 and Xbox consoles have fixed specs, which allows Rockstar Games to optimize the game specifically for consoles. For the PC platform, they have to test repeatedly across millions of PC hardware combinations. So, they are focusing on one platform at a time to provide a smoother experience.
Piracy Concerns
The console ecosystem provides more protection than PC. One of the main reasons is that if they chose PC as their launch platform, the game could face piracy, data leaks, and online cheaters.
Revenue Focus
Selling the game twice, first on console and later on PC, gives them more revenue. Rockstar Games’ loyal fans always buy the PC version as well, even after buying the game for their console. And there is a good reason for it: PC versions get enhanced graphics, higher frame rates, and more features.

So much has happened in the last two years, right! But there’s no sign of a PC release date. Although Rockstar Games shared GTA 6 prices and editions a few months ago, I don’t think the console prices and PC prices would be the same. For now, all we can do is have some patience, every PC gamer is waiting for a PC announcement.
Will GTA 6 Release on PC in 2027?
I don’t think Rockstar Games will take too long to release GTA 6 for PC. You know, there is a lot of demand for PC components in the market. Gamers are slowly putting effort and money into upgrading their systems because GTA 6 is an expensive game, not everyone can run it smoothly. This time, it will require more than minimum specs if you want a smooth experience without lag, low frame rates, etc.
Did you know that in 2007, PC sales for the NBA game were only around 4% to 5%? Now CEO Zelnick believes it could easily make 40% to 50% more profit for a game like GTA 6. Now look at the latest data: Newzoo, a gaming market intelligence firm, also believes the PC and console markets will reach $104.1 billion by 2028, with PC growing faster than consoles. That’s too much money for Rockstar Games, they won’t ignore it for sure.
However, it seems like mid-2027 is the most reasonable time for Rockstar Games to make an announcement for PC players. Everyone’s eyes are on their events and comments, and PC gamers always expect them to speak up about Windows too.
Can My PC Run GTA 6?

- Use a System Checker Tool: There’s a site (Can You RUN It) where you can check whether your PC system is compatible with the game or not. Visit the site and search for the game you want to check. The site will tell whether you meet the minimum or recommended specs.
- Compare with Official Requirements: Once Rockstar Games publicly shares the official GTA 6 specs, you can compare your setup with them to see if you can run GTA 6 or you need to upgrade your system.
