We’ve made it this far, and GTA 6 is set to release in a few days. Unfortunately, this is not a perfect time for PC players to celebrate because GTA 6 is coming to PlayStation and Xbox consoles first. Sounds like Rockstar is going to test our patience. PC players will have to wait for the next few months or a year to get the game for Windows. Still, curiosity remains, and some legitimate questions are wandering through the minds of PC players as well.

One of the biggest questions that sticks in our minds is whether our PC systems will be able to handle GTA 6 without any issues or not. For our assurance, I did quite a bit of research and estimated what the minimum and recommended system requirements should be to play the game smoothly on the PC platform.

Note: Let me make it clear that Rockstar Games has not shared any information regarding the PC version. So basically, the PC system requirements I mentioned are completely speculative. I don’t want you to go to the supermarket or browse hardware online to get an upgrade for your PC. We are going to wait for the next few months for the official announcement from Rockstar or a Steam page.

GTA 6 for PC – What We Know!

GTA 6 is coming on 19th November 2026. At launch, the game will first be available on PlayStation and Xbox Series X/S. With a huge number of pre-orders, users in New Zealand will be the first to get the GTA 6. I have even included a live timer in my article about the GTA 6 release date countdown, so you can easily track the date. However, Rockstar Games has not released official requirements for the PC to run the game.

There is no official Steam page for the game nor even a Rockstar Games Launcher page for Windows. Rockstar didn’t make any announcement for a PC release yet. But of course, the PC version will come after a year, because both GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 reached to PC platform after their console releases.

Sooner or later, we will get our hands on GTA 6 for PC, and here are the speculative GTA 6 system requirements:

GTA 6 PC System Requirements (Speculation)

Did you see the Extended Look at GTA 6 on Netflix? Damn dude, what graphics they have made! It’s improved, and I personally feel like this game’s size is going to be twice as large compared to GTA 5. As a modern game with high graphics, GTA 6 will push every PC to its limit. You will need a decent PC with these minimum and recommended requirements for storage and graphics cards.

Grand Theft Auto VI – PC Minimum Requirements

Operating SystemWindows 10 / Windows 11
ProcessorIntel Core i5-9600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600

Graphics CardNVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (8GB VRAM) or AMD Radeon RX 6600XT (8GB VRAM)
Storage150GB SSD

If you are expecting high-end performance from your PC then you really need to upgrade it. It’s going to require more than the minimum requirements. While there is no information about recommended requirements or any official announcement from Rockstar Games, we can only speculate on the GTA 6 PC recommended requirements according to industry expert analysis.

What could be the size of the GTA 6?

We have already taken a look at the GTA 6 extended look at Netflix in their 26 mins and 49 secs video. You can even say it was a third trailer of GTA 6 or official gameplay footage. The one thing we all noticed was the top-notch graphics of the characters; they are extremely amazing, for me at least. I was curious about the game’s actual size and how much storage I’m going to need for installation. GTA 6 has been in development since 2014, dude! more than a decade. Based on those graphics, maps, and industry trends, GTA 6 will need approximately 150 GB of SSD space to download on your PC.

Based on what I personally researched, you can expect GTA 6 to require more than 150 GB of SSD space with future updates. That’s a big portion of your PC’s SSD, so we have to plan accordingly. Remember, when Rockstar Games launched GTA 5, it was around 65 GB, and later with more updates, it grew to more than 100 GB of SSD space. Now we have GTA 5’s enhanced version too, and I’m pretty sure that GTA 6 will follow the same trend.

How do I check if I can run GTA 6 on my PC?

Have you noticed that even the minimum requirements for GTA 6 call for an RTX 3060 or a similar graphics card? That’s because Rockstar Games used ray-tracing technology and even more high-end advanced graphics over time. As you know, it’s been in development for a decade, so of course they’re going to deliver something crazy with more realistic stuffs.

If you are concerned about whether your PC can run the game smoothly without lag, crashes, or disappointment. Then you can prepare by keeping the following points in mind:

  • Check Official Requirements of Rockstar Games: You can check all the minimum and recommended requirements from Rockstar Games’ website once they release the details regarding the PC version.
  • Check your Current PC’s Specs: You should write down what RAM, processor, and other important specs your device has. For this, press Windows + R, type dxdiag and then press Enter. This will show your PC’s specs and every other detail you will need to know if you need to upgrade or not.
  • Compare your Current Specs to GTA 6’s Requirements: If you have checked your PC’s specifications, make sure to compare its RAM, CPU, GPU, and storage space with the GTA 6 PC requirements and upgrade accordingly.

Can Your Current PC Run GTA 6?

If you have bought a mid-range or high-end PC in the last 2–3 years, then it should be able to play GTA 6 without any issues. But if you want to experience the perfect graphics of this game without lag or crashes, you have to get the latest hardware for your PC.

If you want to check officially whether your PC is capable of handling the game, then visit a site like Can You Run It, created by System Requirements Lab. You can search for any game, e.g., GTA 5 or GTA 6, and they will run a quick analysis scan tool to inspect your PC’s specs and show you the result of whether you pass the minimum and recommended requirements or not.

Since GTA 6 isn’t coming to PC until 2027, you still have more than enough time to get an upgrade for your PC. Don’t rush to supermarkets or online stores for now, we have to wait for the official announcements. Once they release the accurate GTA 6 PC requirements, we will upgrade each hardware component accordingly till then, we can start saving money.

I will update this article once Rockstar Games releases GTA 6 PC launch window and system requirement details.
